Aphex Twin

Aphex Twin, born James in Cornwall on August eighteenth, nineteen seventy-one, is a pioneering figure in contemporary electronic music. His journey began in the late 1980s, where he honed his skills as a DJ at free parties and clubs throughout the South West of England. By nineteen ninety-one, he had released his debut EP, Analogue Bubblebath, on Mighty Force Records, which quickly garnered him a dedicated following and set the stage for his future success.

In the same year, James co-founded Rephlex Records, an independent label that would play a crucial role in his career. His first album, Selected Ambient Works 85–92, released in nineteen ninety-two by Belgian label Apollo, received widespread acclaim, establishing him as a significant artist in the electronic music scene. Later that year, he signed with Warp Records, leading to a series of influential albums, including ...I Care Because You Do in nineteen ninety-five and the Richard D. James Album in nineteen ninety-six.

James's innovative sound and unique style were further showcased through chart-topping singles like 'Come to Daddy' in nineteen ninety-seven and 'Windowlicker' in nineteen ninety-nine, both of which featured striking music videos directed by Chris Cunningham. After the release of his album Drukqs in two thousand one, he took a brief hiatus from Warp, during which he released music under his Rephlex label, including the Analord EP series in two thousand five.

In two thousand fourteen, he surprised fans by releasing a previously unreleased LP as Caustic Window, followed by the critically acclaimed Aphex Twin album Syro, which won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Since then, he has continued to release music, including the EPs Cheetah in two thousand sixteen and Collapse in two thousand eighteen. His recent single, 'Blackbox Life Recorder 21f,' released in twenty twenty-three, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, further solidifying his status as a leading figure in the genre.
