Arctic Monkeys, an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2002, consists of lead singer and guitarist Alex Turner, drummer Matt Helders, guitarist Jamie Cook, and bassist Nick O'Malley, who joined the band in 2006 after the departure of co-founder Andy Nicholson. The band initially gained recognition during the 'blog rock' era, marking a significant shift in how new music was promoted and marketed.
Their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, released in 2006, was met with critical acclaim and topped the UK Albums Chart, becoming the fastest-selling debut album in British history at that time.
