Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Arghun

Arghun, born in the year twelve fifty-eight, was a prominent sovereign of the Mongol Empire's Ilkhanate division, reigning from one thousand two hundred eighty-four to one thousand two hundred ninety-one. As the son of Abaqa Khan, he inherited not only a legacy of leadership but also a deep devotion to Buddhism, although he maintained a pro-Christian stance.

During his rule, Arghun was notable for his diplomatic efforts, particularly his attempts to forge a Franco-Mongol alliance against the Muslim Mamluks in the Holy Land. He sent several emissaries to Europe in pursuit of this ambitious goal, although these efforts ultimately proved unsuccessful.

In a personal endeavor, Arghun sought a new bride from his great-uncle Kublai Khan, leading to the mission that would escort the young Kököchin to his court. This mission was notably accompanied by the famed traveler Marco Polo. Tragically, Arghun passed away before Kököchin's arrival, resulting in his son Ghazan marrying her instead.
