Armin Meiwes

Armin Meiwes, born on December first, nineteen sixty-one, is a German former computer repair technician whose life took a dark turn, leading to international notoriety. In March two thousand one, he committed a heinous act by murdering and cannibalizing Bernd Brandes, a man he had met online who willingly volunteered to be a part of this gruesome encounter.

The chilling events unfolded when Meiwes and Brandes attempted to consume the victim's severed penis together. Following this grotesque act, Meiwes proceeded to murder Brandes and consume a significant portion of his flesh. This shocking crime led to his arrest in December two thousand two.

Initially convicted of manslaughter in January two thousand four, Meiwes was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison. However, a retrial in May two thousand six resulted in a conviction for murder, leading to a life sentence. Due to the nature of his crimes, he became infamously known as the Rotenburg Cannibal or Der Metzgermeister, a title derived from the signature he used in his emails.
