Arne Åhman

Arne Åhman, born on February 4, 1925, was a distinguished Swedish athlete renowned for his exceptional talent in athletics, particularly in the triple jump. His remarkable career reached a pinnacle when he clinched the gold medal in the triple jump at the 1948 Summer Olympics, marking a significant achievement in Swedish sports history.

Åhman made an impressive debut with a jump of fifteen point four zero metres, which not only secured him the Olympic title but also established a new Swedish record. His prowess in athletics was further demonstrated at the European Championships, where he earned a bronze medal in the triple jump in 1946 and a silver medal in the high jump in 1950.
