Arthur Barnard

Arthur Barnard, born on March 10, 1929, was a distinguished American sprinter renowned for his prowess in the 110 m hurdles. His athletic journey reached a pinnacle when he secured a bronze medal at the 1952 Olympics, showcasing his exceptional talent on the world stage.

Before his Olympic success, Barnard honed his skills at La Jolla High School, where he made a significant mark by finishing second in the 120 yard high hurdles at the 1947 CIF California State Meet. This early achievement laid the foundation for his future endeavors in athletics.

Furthering his education and athletic career, Barnard attended the University of Southern California. His time there not only refined his abilities but also solidified his status as a formidable competitor in the realm of track and field.
