Arthur Dominique Rozaire

Arthur Dominique Rozaire, born on January first, eighteen seventy-nine, was a distinguished Canadian impressionist painter renowned for his captivating landscapes. His artistic journey was significantly influenced by Maurice Cullen, one of his mentors, from whom he developed a unique style characterized by broad, expressive brushstrokes.

Interestingly, Rozaire altered the spelling of his last name in the paintings he signed. This change stemmed from a misprint in the Art Association of Montreal Spring show catalogue of nineteen hundred, which inadvertently led to a new signature that would become part of his artistic identity.
