Arthur Kopit

Arthur Kopit, born on May tenth, nineteen thirty-seven, is a distinguished American playwright, translator, writer, actor, and screenwriter. His remarkable contributions to the theater have earned him recognition as a two-time finalist for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize, with notable works such as 'Indians' and 'Wings'.

In addition to his Pulitzer nominations, Kopit has been honored with three Tony Award nominations. His plays 'Indians' in nineteen seventy and 'Wings' in nineteen seventy-nine both received nominations for Best Play, while his work on the musical 'Nine' in nineteen eighty-two garnered a nomination for Best Book of a Musical.

Kopit's talent was further acknowledged when he won the Vernon Rice Award, now known as the Drama Desk Award, in nineteen sixty-two for his play 'Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad'.
