Artur Rasizade, born on February twenty-six, nineteen thirty-five, is a notable Azerbaijani politician, engineer, and diplomat. He held the position of Prime Minister of Azerbaijan from nineteen ninety-six until two thousand eighteen, serving under the authoritarian regimes of Heydar Aliyev and his son Ilham Aliyev.
Throughout his lengthy political career, Rasizade was a prominent member of the Communist Party during the Azerbaijan SSR period. His tenure as Prime Minister was characterized by a lack of political influence, as noted by Thomas de Waal, who remarked that Rasizade was largely unknown outside of Azerbaijan and that his departure from office went largely unnoticed.
Despite the significant duration of his service, Rasizade's legacy remains understated, reflecting the complexities of Azerbaijani politics during a time of transition and consolidation of power.
