Arturo Sosa

Arturo Sosa, born on November twelfth, nineteen forty-eight, is a distinguished Venezuelan Catholic priest and philosopher. He has made significant contributions to the Society of Jesus, where he currently serves as the thirty-first superior general, a position he has held since two thousand sixteen.

His election came during the Society's thirty-sixth General Congregation, where he succeeded Adolfo Nicolás. This pivotal moment marked a historic achievement, as Sosa became the first individual from Latin America to lead the Jesuits, a testament to his leadership and dedication to the order.
