Aruna Asaf Ali

Aruna Asaf Ali, born on July sixteenth, nineteen oh nine, was a prominent Indian educator, political activist, and publisher. She played a significant role in the Indian independence movement, where her courage and determination shone brightly. One of her most notable acts was hoisting the Indian National flag at the Gowalia Tank Maidan in Bombay during the pivotal Quit India Movement in nineteen forty-two.

Her contributions to the freedom struggle were not only limited to her activism; post-independence, Aruna continued to serve her country by entering politics. She made history as Delhi's first mayor, a position that allowed her to influence the city's development and governance.
