Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka, born on May 5, 1998, is a prominent Belarusian professional tennis player who has made significant strides in the world of women's tennis. Currently ranked world No. 1 in singles by the WTA, she has also held the top position in doubles. Sabalenka's impressive career includes twenty-four WTA Tour-level singles titles, among which are four major championships—two at the Australian Open and two at the US Open. Additionally, she has claimed eleven WTA 1000 events and six doubles titles, showcasing her versatility on the court.

Sabalenka's rise to fame began in 2017 when she, alongside Aliaksandra Sasnovich, led the Belarus Fed Cup team to a runner-up finish, despite both players being ranked outside the top seventy-five at that time. She finished the years 2018 and 2019 ranked world No. 11 in singles. After reaching two major singles semifinals in 2021, she ascended to world No. 2, although she faced challenges in maintaining that level of success in 2022.

The year 2023 marked a turning point in Sabalenka's career as she secured her first major singles title at the Australian Open and finished as the runner-up at the US Open, achieving the world No. 1 ranking for the first time. In 2024, she successfully defended her Australian Open title and added a third major singles title at the US Open, concluding the year as the top-ranked player.

Continuing her success, Sabalenka defended her US Open title in 2025 and was the runner-up at both the Australian and French Opens, maintaining her No. 1 position throughout the season. In 2026, she reached her eighth major singles final at the Australian Open and completed the prestigious Sunshine Double by winning both Indian Wells and Miami.

Sabalenka began her journey in doubles in 2019, partnering with Elise Mertens. Their collaboration proved fruitful as they won the Sunshine Double that year, followed by a US Open title. After winning their second major title at the Australian Open in 2021, Sabalenka became the world No. 1 in doubles before transitioning to focus solely on her singles career.
