Asghar Farhadi

Asghar Farhadi, born on May seventh, nineteen seventy-two, is a distinguished Iranian film director and screenwriter, celebrated for his profound contributions to both Iranian and global cinema in the twenty-first century. His films are renowned for their deep exploration of the human condition, often delving into intimate and complex narratives centered around family conflicts.

Farhadi made his directorial debut with the drama Dancing in the Dust in two thousand three, followed by notable works such as The Beautiful City in two thousand four and Fireworks Wednesday in two thousand six. His film About Elly, released in two thousand nine, garnered significant acclaim, earning him a Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival.

He is one of the rare directors to have won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film on two occasions, first for the family drama A Separation in two thousand eleven and later for the moral drama The Salesman in two thousand sixteen, which also received the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay.
