Audre Lorde

Audre Lorde was a multifaceted American writer, professor, and civil rights activist, whose life and work were dedicated to confronting injustice and oppression in all its forms. Born on February eighteenth, nineteen thirty-four, she identified as a Black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, and poet. Lorde's commitment to intersectional feminism and social justice was evident in her belief that there could be no hierarchy of oppressions among those striving for liberation and a better future for their children.

As a poet, Lorde was renowned for her technical mastery and emotional depth. Her work often expressed her anger and outrage at the civil and social injustices she witnessed throughout her life. Additionally, she was a founding member of Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press, which aimed to amplify the voices of women of color.
