August Alsina

August Anthony Alsina Jr., born on September 3, 1992, is a prominent American R&B singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and impactful lyrics. He first made waves in the music industry with the self-release of his debut mixtape, The Product, in 2012, which laid the groundwork for his burgeoning career.

Following the success of his initial mixtape, Alsina released The Product 2 in 2013, and soon after, he signed with The-Dream's Radio Killa Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam Recordings. This partnership led to the release of his debut commercial extended play, Downtown: Life Under the Gun, which marked his entry into the Billboard 200. His debut single, "I Luv This Shit" featuring Trinidad James, achieved remarkable success, peaking within the top fifty of the Billboard Hot 100 and earning double platinum certification from the RIAA.

In 2014, Alsina continued to build on his momentum with the follow-up single, "No Love (Remix)" featuring Nicki Minaj, which also received double platinum status. Both tracks served as lead singles for his debut studio album, Testimony, released the same year. The album garnered critical acclaim and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, solidifying Alsina's place in the music scene.

His second album, This Thing Called Life, released in 2015, showcased a more introspective approach and received praise from critics, despite being less commercially focused. During this period, Alsina made notable guest appearances on DJ Khaled's hit singles, "Hold You Down" in 2014 and "Do You Mind" in 2016. After a significant hiatus and parting ways with Def Jam, he self-released his third and fourth albums, The Product III: State of Emergency in 2020 and Myself in 2022, continuing to evolve as an artist.
