Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007

Austria made a notable return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 after a brief hiatus, having withdrawn the previous year due to disappointing results. The Austrian broadcaster, Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF), took the initiative to internally select its representative for the contest, marking a strategic move to regain its footing in the competition.

On the 20th of February 2007, ORF announced that Eric Papilaya would be the face of Austria at the contest, performing the song "Get a Life – Get Alive." This vibrant track, composed by Greg Usek with lyrics by Austin Howard, was officially unveiled to the public on the 7th of March 2007, generating excitement among fans.

The semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest took place on the 10th of May 2007, where Austria was set to compete. Performing in the twenty-seventh position, Papilaya's entry unfortunately did not resonate enough to secure a place in the final. Ultimately, Austria finished in twenty-seventh place out of twenty-eight participating countries, garnering a total of four points.
