Badra Gunba

Badra Gunba, born on August fourteenth, nineteen eighty-one, in Sukhumi, has emerged as a prominent figure in Abkhazian politics. His journey began with a solid educational foundation in economics from the Saratov State Agrarian University, which paved the way for his career in public service.

Gunba's political ascent began in two thousand nine when he was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture, a role that showcased his commitment to the cultural development of Abkhazia. By two thousand eleven, he had risen to the position of Minister of Culture, further solidifying his influence in the government.

In two thousand twenty, he was selected by President Aslan Bzhania as his running mate for the presidential election, where they both campaigned as Independents. Following Bzhania's victory, Gunba took office as the seventh vice president on March twenty-third, two thousand twenty.

However, the political landscape shifted dramatically in November twenty twenty-four when widespread protests led to Bzhania's resignation. Gunba stepped in as acting president, and in March twenty twenty-five, he successfully ran for the presidency, officially taking office on April second.
