Bafétimbi Gomis, born on August 6, 1985, is a distinguished former professional footballer from France, renowned for his prowess as a striker. He began his football journey in the youth ranks of Saint-Étienne, where he made his professional debut in 2004. Gomis also had a brief loan spell at Troyes in Ligue 2, showcasing his potential early in his career.
In 2009, Gomis made a significant move to Lyon, one of Saint-Étienne's fiercest rivals, for a transfer fee of thirteen million euros.
