Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield, born on March 14, 1995, is a prominent American football quarterback currently playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). His journey began with a season at Texas Tech before he transferred to the Oklahoma Sooners, where he made history as the first walk-on player to win the prestigious Heisman Trophy.

In 2018, Mayfield was selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns in the NFL draft. He quickly made an impact, setting the rookie quarterback record for passing touchdowns in his debut season and ending a nineteen-game winless streak for the Browns. His standout year came in 2020 when he led the team to its first playoff appearance since 2002 and secured their first playoff victory since 1994.

Despite his early success, Mayfield faced challenges, including a decline in performance and conflicts with the Browns' management, which led to his trade in 2022. He spent that season with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams before joining the Buccaneers in 2023.

With the Buccaneers, Mayfield has continued to excel, leading the team to two consecutive division titles and a playoff victory. His impressive performance earned him two consecutive Pro Bowl selections, and he currently holds the record for the all-time playoff passer rating.
