Bakili Muluzi

Bakili Muluzi, born on March seventeenth, nineteen forty-three, is a prominent Malawian politician and businessperson who served as the President of Malawi from nineteen ninety-four to two thousand four. His leadership marked a significant transition in the country's political landscape, succeeding Hastings Kamuzu Banda.

Before ascending to the presidency, Muluzi was an influential figure within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), where he held various ministerial roles, including minister without portfolio. His political career began in the cabinet of Banda, but he faced challenges, including dismissal from the MCP for mismanagement of party funds.
