Balendra Shah, known popularly as Balen, was born on April twenty-seventh, nineteen ninety. He is a multifaceted individual, serving as a rapper, structural engineer, and politician. Balen has made history by becoming the prime minister of Nepal in the year twenty twenty-six, following a remarkable victory in the general elections. At the age of thirty-five, he holds the distinction of being the youngest serving state leader in the world.
Before ascending to the role of prime minister, Balen served as the fifteenth mayor of Kathmandu from twenty twenty-two to twenty twenty-six. His election as mayor marked a significant milestone as he was the first independent candidate to hold this prestigious office. During his tenure, he implemented various initiatives aimed at improving waste management and traffic conditions in the city.
However, his administration was not without challenges. Balen faced criticism over his handling of squatter settlements, the demolition of illegally constructed structures, and enforcement actions against street vendors. His political journey gained momentum during the Gen Z protests in twenty twenty-five, where he emerged as a prominent figure advocating for change.
In January twenty twenty-six, Balen resigned from his position as mayor to join the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) as their prime ministerial candidate for the general elections. His campaign was marked by a decisive victory over former Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli in Jhapa five, leading his party to a historic majority.
