Bano Qudsia

Bano Qudsia, born on 28 November 1928, was a prominent Pakistani writer, novelist, and playwright, widely celebrated for her contributions to Urdu literature. Known affectionately as Bano Aapa, she carved a niche for herself in the literary world with her profound storytelling and spiritual insights.

Her most acclaimed work, the novel Raja Gidh, showcases her unique narrative style and deep understanding of human emotions. In addition to novels, Qudsia's creative prowess extended to television and stage, where she wrote compelling dramas in both Urdu and Punjabi. Her play Aadhi Baat has been recognized as a classic, further solidifying her legacy in the arts.
