Barack Obama Sr.

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Barack Obama Sr.

Barack Obama Sr. was a prominent Kenyan economist, known for his significant contributions to the country's economic landscape and as the father of Barack Obama, the forty-fourth president of the United States. Born on June eighteenth, nineteen thirty-four, he emerged as a key figure in his son's memoir, 'Dreams from My Father,' published in nineteen ninety-five.

In nineteen fifty-four, Obama married his first wife, Kezia, with whom he had two children. His academic journey took him to the United States, where he was selected for a special program to study at the University of Hawaii. It was there that he met Ann Dunham, whom he married in nineteen sixty-one after the conception of their son, Barack. However, their marriage was short-lived, ending in divorce three years later.

Obama continued his education at Harvard University, earning a Master of Arts in economics before returning to Kenya in nineteen sixty-four. His career began in the oil industry, but he later transitioned to the Kenyan Ministry of Transport and was promoted to senior economic analyst in the Ministry of Finance. Despite his qualifications, he faced significant challenges, including conflicts with President Jomo Kenyatta, which ultimately led to his dismissal and blacklisting in Kenya.

In late nineteen sixty-four, Obama married Ruth Beatrice Baker, an American woman he had met in Massachusetts, and they had two sons before separating in nineteen seventy-one and divorcing in nineteen seventy-three. His later years were marred by personal struggles, including three serious car accidents, the last of which claimed his life in nineteen eighty-two.
