Barbara Mervin, affectionately known as Swevin Mervin, is a distinguished Canadian rugby union player and coach, as well as an entrepreneur and sports executive. Born on April first, nineteen eighty-two, she has made significant contributions to the sport, representing Canada at the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. Unfortunately, her journey in the tournament was cut short due to a broken bone in her right hand sustained during the first match against Spain.
Before her illustrious rugby career, Mervin pursued her education at the University of Western Ontario, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in art history. Additionally, she holds a diploma in fashion design from the Pacific Design Academy in Victoria, British Columbia, showcasing her diverse talents beyond the rugby field.
