Barış Manço

Mehmet Barış Manço, born on January 2, 1943, was a transformative figure in Turkish music and culture. Known widely by his stage name, Barış Manço, he emerged as a pioneering rock musician and one of the founding fathers of the Anatolian rock genre. His musical journey began during his time at Galatasaray High School, where he cultivated his passion for music and performance.

Throughout his illustrious career, Manço composed approximately two hundred songs, earning him a place among Turkey's best-selling artists. His work transcended borders, with many of his songs being translated into various languages, including English, French, Japanese, and Arabic. In addition to his musical achievements, Barış Manço was a beloved television producer and show host.
