Barry Cullen

Barry Cullen, born on June sixteenth, nineteen thirty-five, was a notable Canadian ice hockey right winger who made his mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) over five seasons. He began his professional journey with the Toronto Maple Leafs in nineteen fifty-five, where he had the unique opportunity to play alongside his brother, Brian. This familial connection added a special dimension to his early career.

Throughout his time in the NHL, Cullen showcased his skills on the ice until he concluded his career with the Detroit Red Wings in nineteen sixty. Hockey was a family affair for the Cullens, as Barry's younger brother, Ray, also played in the NHL, continuing the legacy of athletic talent within the family.

Beyond his professional achievements, Cullen was a devoted family man. His eldest son, Terry, played for the Michigan Wolverines but faced a tragic incident that left him with a broken neck after being hit from behind. After retiring from professional hockey, Cullen settled in Guelph, Ontario, where he successfully owned a car dealership. His life came to a close in Guelph on December sixteenth, twenty twenty-two, at the age of eighty-seven, leaving behind a rich legacy in both sports and family.
