Barsbay

Barsbay, born in the year thirteen sixty-nine, rose to prominence as the ninth Burji Mamluk sultan of Egypt, reigning from the year fourteen twenty-two until fourteen thirty-eight. His ascent to power is a remarkable tale of resilience and ambition, as he began his life as a Circassian slave.
