Bart Bok

Bart Bok, born on April twenty-eighth, nineteen oh six, was a distinguished Dutch-American astronomer whose contributions to the field of astronomy have left an indelible mark. He is particularly renowned for his pioneering research on the structure and evolution of the Milky Way galaxy, as well as for his discovery of Bok globules—small, dense clouds of interstellar gas and dust that stand out against brighter cosmic backgrounds. Bok proposed that these globules might be in the process of contracting, potentially leading to the formation of new stars.
