Bartolo Longo

Bartolo Longo, born on February 10, 1841, was an Italian jurist, lawyer, and writer whose life took a remarkable turn from darkness to light. Initially, he was known as a Satanic priest, but his journey led him back to the Catholic faith, where he found solace and purpose.

Embracing his newfound beliefs, Longo became a Dominican tertiary, dedicating his life to the rosary and the veneration of the Virgin Mary. His commitment to his faith and community was profound, and he worked tirelessly to promote the spiritual significance of the rosary.

In recognition of his contributions, Longo was honored with a papal knighthood in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. His legacy continued to grow, culminating in his canonization by Pope Leo XIV on October 19, 2025, solidifying his status as a revered figure in the Catholic Church.
