Baybars, born on July nineteenth, twelve twenty-three, was a prominent ruler and military commander of Turkic Kipchak origin, known for his pivotal role as the fourth Mamluk sultan of Egypt and Syria. He earned the nickname Abu al-Futuh, meaning 'Father of Conquests,' reflecting his significant military achievements and strategic prowess.

Ascending to power after Qutuz, Baybars became a key figure in the Muslim resistance against the Crusaders, notably leading forces that defeated King Louis IX of France during the Seventh Crusade. His leadership at the Battle of Ain Jalut in twelve sixty marked a historic turning point, as it was the first substantial defeat inflicted on the Mongol army, showcasing the resilience and strength of the Mamluk military.

Baybars' reign heralded an era of Mamluk dominance in the Eastern Mediterranean, reinforcing the military system that would sustain their power.
