Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Bayezid I

Bayezid I, known as Bayezid the Thunderbolt, was a prominent figure in the history of the Ottoman Empire, reigning as sultan from 1389 until 1402. Born on March eighth, thirteen fifty-four, he emerged as a formidable ruler and poet, leaving a lasting legacy in the annals of history.

During his reign, Bayezid sought to expand his empire, successfully vanquishing various Beyliks and asserting control over the entirety of Anatolia. His military prowess was evident when he defeated the crusaders at the Battle of Nicopolis in thirteen ninety-six, a significant victory that showcased his strategic acumen.

In his quest for power, Bayezid made two notable attempts to besiege Constantinople, first in thirteen ninety-four and again in fourteen oh two. While he initially appeared to find success in the latter siege, he ultimately withdrew due to the invasion of the Turco-Mongol conqueror Timur, which marked a turning point in his reign.

Bayezid's fortunes changed dramatically at the Battle of Ankara in fourteen oh two, where he faced defeat and was captured by Timur. His death in captivity in March of fourteen oh three triggered the Ottoman Interregnum, a tumultuous period marked by the struggle for power among his sons.
