Bechara Boutros al-Rahi

Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, born on 25 February 1940, is a prominent figure in the Maronite Church, serving as the 77th Maronite Patriarch of Antioch since 15 March 2011. He succeeded the esteemed Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir, taking on a role that carries significant spiritual and administrative responsibilities within the church.

His elevation to the cardinalate on 24 November 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI marked a pivotal moment in his ecclesiastical career, further solidifying his influence and leadership within the Catholic community. As a member of the Mariamite Maronite Order, Rahi has dedicated his life to the service of the church and its followers.
