Beck David Hansen, known simply as Beck, was born on July 8, 1970, in Los Angeles. He emerged as a prominent figure in the music scene during the early 1990s, captivating audiences with his unique blend of experimental and lo-fi sounds. His innovative approach to music, characterized by eclectic collages that span genres such as folk, funk, soul, hip hop, electronica, alternative rock, country, and psychedelia, has earned him a distinguished place in the industry.

Beck's musical journey began in his teenage years, where he was drawn to hip hop and folk music. After performing at local coffeehouses and clubs, he moved to New York City in 1989, immersing himself in the anti-folk movement. His return to Los Angeles marked a turning point in his career, as he achieved commercial success with the release of his iconic single "Loser" in 1993. This track not only peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 but also served as the lead single for his major label debut album, Mellow Gold, released in 1994.
