Her contributions to Hindustani classical music earned her the revered title of 'Mallika-e-Ghazal,' or Queen of Ghazals. Renowned for her mastery in the ghazal, dadra, and thumri genres, Begum Akhtar is celebrated as one of the greatest vocalists in Indian history.
