Ben Olsen

Ben Olsen, born on May third, nineteen seventy-seven, in Middletown, Pennsylvania, is a prominent figure in American soccer, known for his dual roles as a player and coach. He began his soccer journey with FC Delco, an elite youth program near Philadelphia, before making a significant impact at the collegiate level with the Virginia Cavaliers men's soccer team, where he was honored as the Soccer America Player of the Year in nineteen ninety-seven.

Olsen's professional career was largely defined by his time with D.C. United in Major League Soccer, where he made an impressive two hundred twenty-one appearances, netting twenty-nine goals and providing forty-nine assists over twelve seasons. His tenure with the club was marked by numerous accolades, including two MLS Cup titles, two MLS Supporters' Shields, and a U.S. Open Cup winners medal. Individually, he was recognized as a two-time MLS All-Star, the MLS Rookie of the Year in nineteen ninety-eight, the MVP of the MLS Cup in nineteen ninety-nine, and a member of the MLS Best XI in two thousand seven.
