Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu, born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, is a prominent Israeli politician and diplomat who has made history as Israel's longest-serving prime minister. His political journey began after returning to Israel in 1967, where he joined the Israel Defense Forces and served in the elite Sayeret Matkal special forces. Following his military service, Netanyahu pursued higher education in the United States, graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later working for the Boston Consulting Group.

Netanyahu's political career took off when he became the chair of the Likud party in 1993, leading him to become the first Israeli prime minister elected directly by popular vote in 1996. After a brief defeat in 1999, he returned to the political arena, serving as minister of foreign affairs and finance, where he initiated significant economic reforms. His leadership saw him return to the prime ministership in 2009, where he formed a coalition government and maintained a close relationship with then-President Donald Trump, which influenced key diplomatic developments.
