Benjamin Thomsen

Benjamin Thomsen, born on August 25, 1987, in Invermere, British Columbia, is a distinguished alpine ski racer representing Canada on the world stage. Known affectionately as Ben, he has carved a niche for himself in the competitive realm of alpine skiing, particularly excelling in the speed events of Downhill and Super G.

Thomsen's journey into the world of skiing is deeply rooted in his family, as his father, Glenn, served as a national team coach for Alpine Canada. This familial connection to the sport has undoubtedly influenced his career and passion for alpine skiing.

Making his World Cup debut in March 2010, Thomsen quickly established himself as a formidable competitor. His most notable achievement came in February 2012, when he secured a second-place finish at the pre-Olympic downhill event held at Rosa Khutor in Russia, marking his only podium appearance in the World Cup circuit.
