Bennet Omalu, born in September nineteen sixty-eight, is a distinguished Nigerian and American physician renowned for his groundbreaking work in neuropathology and forensic pathology. His career took a pivotal turn while he was employed at the Allegheny County coroner's office in Pittsburgh, where he made history by being the first to discover and publish findings on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in American football players.

Following his significant contributions to the field, Omalu ascended to the role of chief medical examiner for San Joaquin County, California.
