Bernard Challandes, born on July twenty-eight, nineteen fifty-one, is a distinguished Swiss figure in the world of football, both as a former player and a coach. His playing career saw him take on the role of a defender, representing clubs such as Urania Genève Sport and Le Locle, along with loan spells at Superga and Boudry.
Transitioning from player to coach, Challandes began his managerial journey as a player-coach at Saint-Imier. He went on to lead several prominent Swiss clubs, including FC La Chaux-de-Fonds, Yverdon Sports, Young Boys, Servette, Zürich, Sion, Neuchâtel Xamax, and Thun. His expertise also extended to the national level, where he coached Switzerland's youth teams, including the U17, U18, and U21 squads.
Challandes' coaching career took him beyond Switzerland, as he managed the Armenia national team from two thousand fourteen to two thousand fifteen.
