Bernard Lamarre

Bernard Lamarre, born on August sixth, nineteen thirty-one, in Chicoutimi, Quebec, was a distinguished Canadian engineer and businessman. He embarked on his academic journey at the École Polytechnique de Montréal, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Civil Engineering in nineteen fifty-two. His pursuit of knowledge continued at Imperial College of Science and Technology, culminating in a Master of Science degree in nineteen fifty-five, during which he was honored with the prestigious Athlone Fellowship.

Beginning his professional career as a soil mechanics engineer with the firm Lalonde & Valois, Lamarre's expertise and leadership skills propelled him to the role of president and chief executive officer of the company, which is now recognized as Lavalin Group. Under his guidance, the firm flourished, establishing a strong reputation in the engineering sector.

In addition to his corporate achievements, Lamarre served as the president of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec from nineteen ninety-three to nineteen ninety-seven. His contributions to the engineering community and his leadership in various capacities have left a lasting impact on the industry.
