Bill Ritter

August William Ritter Jr., born on September sixth, nineteen fifty-six, is a distinguished American politician and lawyer. He made history as the forty-first Governor of Colorado, serving from two thousand seven to two thousand eleven. A proud member of the Democratic Party, Ritter's political journey began as the district attorney for Denver, a role that laid the foundation for his subsequent election to the governorship in two thousand six.

Ritter's election was particularly significant as he became the first Colorado-born individual to hold the office of Governor since nineteen seventy-five. Additionally, he was the first Democratic officeholder in half a century to serve alongside a Democratic majority in the Colorado General Assembly, marking a pivotal moment in the state's political landscape.
