Billie Joe Armstrong

Billie Joe Armstrong, born on February 17, 1972, is an iconic American musician and actor, renowned for his role as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the legendary rock band Green Day. Co-founding the band with Mike Dirnt in 1987, Armstrong has left an indelible mark on the punk rock genre, earning accolades as one of the greatest punk rock guitarists and singers of all time.

From a young age, Armstrong exhibited a passion for music, recording his first song at just five years old. His musical journey began in earnest when he and Dirnt formed the band Sweet Children at the age of 14, which later evolved into Green Day. Beyond his work with Green Day, Armstrong has contributed to various side projects, including the punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder and other ventures like Foxboro Hot Tubs and the Network.

Armstrong's talents extend beyond music; he has also made his mark in film and television. His acting credits include appearances in productions such as Like Sunday, Like Rain, Ordinary World, and the animated series King of the Hill. Notably, he co-wrote the book and lyrics for the Broadway jukebox musical American Idiot, where he took on the role of St. Jimmy during its run.

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Armstrong has ventured into the business world, founding Adeline Records in 1997 to support emerging bands, coinciding with the release of Green Day's album Nimrod. He also co-founded Punk Bunny Coffee in 2015, further showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
