Bjørn Lomborg

Bjørn Lomborg, born on January sixth, nineteen sixty-five, is a prominent Danish political scientist and economist, renowned for his thought-provoking perspectives on environmental issues. He serves as the president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center and previously directed the Danish government's Environmental Assessment Institute in Copenhagen. Lomborg gained international recognition with his best-selling book, The Skeptical Environmentalist, published in two thousand one.

In two thousand two, he co-founded the Copenhagen Consensus, an initiative aimed at prioritizing global challenges through cost-effective solutions. His influence was acknowledged in two thousand four when he was named one of Time magazine's one hundred most influential people. Lomborg's subsequent work, Cool It, released in two thousand seven, along with its film adaptation, further elaborated on his views regarding global warming, which often diverge from the prevailing scientific consensus.

While Lomborg acknowledges that global warming is real, man-made, and poses serious threats, he argues that the negative impacts are frequently overstated.
