Black Eyed Peas

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas, an iconic American musical group, originated in Los Angeles in 1992. Initially formed as an alternative hip hop trio, the group consisted of rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. Their journey took a significant turn when they signed with Interscope Records, leading to the release of their first two albums, 'Behind the Front' in 1998 and 'Bridging the Gap' in 2000. However, it was their rebranding into a pop-rap act that catapulted them to mainstream success.

Their third album, 'Elephunk,' released in 2003, marked a pivotal moment in their career, featuring the hit single 'Where Is the Love?' which topped charts in thirteen countries, including a seven-week reign at number one in the United Kingdom. The group's fourth album, 'Monkey Business,' released in 2005, continued this trend of commercial success, achieving triple platinum certification and peaking at number two on the Billboard 200.

In 2009, the Black Eyed Peas reached new heights with their fifth album, 'The E.N.D.,' which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This album produced three number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100: 'Imma Be,' 'Boom Boom Pow,' and 'I Gotta Feeling.' Notably, 'I Gotta Feeling' became the first single to surpass one million downloads in the United Kingdom. Their success was recognized at the 52nd Grammy Awards, where they won three awards from six nominations.

After the release of their sixth album, 'The Beginning,' in 2010, the group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2011 to explore individual projects. They briefly reunited in 2015, but in 2018, Fergie departed from the group, and J. Rey Soul joined as a touring member. Soul contributed to the group's seventh album, 'Masters of the Sun Vol. 1,' which, despite its lack of chart success, was followed by the albums 'Translation' in 2020 and 'Elevation' in 2022, showcasing their exploration of reggaeton and Latin influences.
