Bob Boughner

Robert Darren Boughner, affectionately known as "The Boogieman," was born on March 8, 1971. A Canadian by birth, he has made significant contributions to the world of ice hockey, both as a player and a coach. Currently, he serves as an assistant coach for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League (NHL), where his expertise and experience are invaluable to the team's success.

Boughner's coaching career is highlighted by his tenure as the head coach of the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League. Under his leadership, the Spitfires achieved remarkable success, clinching the prestigious Memorial Cup Canadian major junior national championships in two consecutive years, two thousand nine and two thousand ten. His ability to develop young talent and foster a winning culture earned him recognition in the form of the CHL's Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award, which he won twice, in two thousand eight and two thousand nine.
