Bob Bryar

Bob Bryar, born on December 31, 1979, in Chicago, was a talented American drummer and audio engineer. He discovered his passion for music at a young age, learning to play the drums by the time he was four. Throughout his childhood, he participated in various school bands and eventually formed his own group. His journey in music led him to the University of Florida, where he studied sound engineering, further honing his skills.

In 2000, Bryar began his professional career by joining the touring crews of several notable rock bands, including The Used and Thrice. His big break came in 2004 when he joined My Chemical Romance, shortly after the release of their acclaimed album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Bryar replaced former drummer Matt Pelissier and quickly became an integral part of the band, contributing to their third studio album, The Black Parade, which was released in 2006.

Despite his success, Bryar's time with My Chemical Romance came to an end in 2010 for undisclosed reasons. During his tenure, he received co-writing credits for several tracks on their fourth album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and participated in the Conventional Weapons compilation album recorded in 2009. After leaving the band, he shifted his focus to behind-the-scenes roles in the music industry.

In 2014, Bryar retired from music and transitioned into a career as a real estate agent. He also became an advocate for dog rescue charities, auctioning off his drumming equipment and a My Chemical Romance outfit to support the cause. Tragically, in November 2024, Bryar was found dead in his home in Shelbyville, Tennessee, with an inconclusive autopsy report regarding the cause of his death.
