Robert Louis Ridarelli, known to the world as Bobby Rydell, was born on April 26, 1942. He emerged as a prominent figure in the American music scene during the early 1960s, captivating audiences with his rock and roll and traditional pop melodies. Rydell quickly became a teen idol, with his charm and vocal talent winning the hearts of many.
Among his most celebrated hits are the infectious "Wildwood Days," the energetic "Wild One," and his iconic rendition of "Volare," a cover of the beloved Italian song by Domenico Modugno. His musical journey also led him to the silver screen, where he showcased his talents in the 1963 musical film, Bye Bye Birdie.
In the 1980s, Rydell joined forces with fellow teen idols Frankie Avalon and Fabian Forte to form a trio known as The Golden Boys. This collaboration allowed him to continue sharing his music with fans, and he remained active in touring until his passing on April 5, 2022.
