Bogdan Stancu, born on June 28, 1987, is a former professional footballer from Romania, renowned for his role as a forward. His journey in professional football began at Argeș Pitești, where he showcased his talent before embarking on a brief loan spell at Mioveni. Following a contractual irregularity, Stancu transitioned to Unirea Urziceni, marking the start of a significant chapter in his career.
In the summer of 2008, after two successful years at Urziceni, Stancu made a notable move to Steaua București. His first season with the club was remarkable, as he emerged as Steaua's top scorer, netting eleven goals. The 2010–11 season saw him continue to shine, scoring sixteen times in twenty-seven appearances, which led to a lucrative transfer to Galatasaray for a fee of five million euros.
Stancu's time at Galatasaray was less fruitful, prompting a move to Orduspor. After Orduspor faced relegation from the Süper Lig, he found a new home at Gençlerbirliği, where he continued to contribute to the sport. On the international stage, Stancu's career took off in 2010, culminating in his participation at Euro 2016, further solidifying his legacy in Romanian football.
