Bojana Popović

Bojana Popović, born on November twentieth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a distinguished Montenegrin handball coach and a retired player, renowned for her exceptional contributions to the sport. She has made a significant impact as the former head coach of ŽRK Budućnost and currently serves as an assistant coach for the Danish national team under Helle Thomsen.

Regarded by many as the finest female handball player of the 2000s, Popović's illustrious career includes winning the Women's EHF Champions League with Budućnost and securing a silver medal at the two thousand twelve Olympic Games with the Montenegro national team. Her remarkable skills and leadership on the court have left an indelible mark on the sport.

After a successful career, Bojana Popović announced her retirement from handball. However, in June two thousand sixteen, she made the surprising decision to come out of retirement, expressing her desire to compete once again for the Montenegro national handball team at the two thousand sixteen Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
