Bombay Jayashri

Jayashri Ramnath, widely recognized as Bombay Jayashri, is a distinguished Indian Carnatic vocalist and musician, celebrated for her contributions to the world of music. Born into a lineage of musicians in nineteen fifty, she represents the fourth generation of music practitioners in her family, showcasing a rich heritage that has profoundly influenced her artistic journey.

Her musical training under the esteemed Lalgudi Jayaraman and T.R. Balamani has equipped her with the skills and knowledge that have propelled her to the forefront of the Carnatic music scene. In recognition of her exceptional talent, Bombay Jayashri was honored with the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in twenty twenty-one. Her accolades continued to grow, culminating in December twenty twenty-three when she received the prestigious Sangeetha Kalanidhi award from the Madras Music Academy, a testament to her influence in the Carnatic music field.
